The Paris Olympics-bound USA Women’s National Water Polo Team kicks off its preparation for this summer’s Games at the Elings Aquatic Center at Dos Pueblos High.

Team USA will play Australia on Sunday, April 7, at 2 p.m. It’s the opener of a three-game series between Olympics qualifiers. The teams will also play at Long Beach City College on April 9 and the Woollett Aquatics Center in Irvine on April 13.

Admission to the international exhibition at Dos Pueblos is free.

Dos Pueblos alum Ryann Neushul is a member of Team USA. She is hoping to land one of the 13 roster spots for the Paris Olympics. Her older sisters, Kiley and Jamie, played on gold medal-winning teams at the 2016 and 2020 Games, respectively.

Ryann Neushul has been a regular on the U.S. squad for the past couple of years. Last month, she played at the World Championships in Doha, Qatar, where the Americans won a record-eighth title and fifth title in its last six appearances.

Team USA qualified for the Paris Olympics by winning the 2023 Pan American Games. Australia won its Oceania zone qualifier.

Following the series with the Aussies, Team USA will host Olympic qualifier China in a a three-game set: April 20 at Ocean View High in Huntington Beach, April 22 at Long Beach CC and April 27 at the Torrance Aquatic Center.
