For the first time since its inception five years ago, One805, the nonprofit behind the original Kick Ash Bash, has introduced an official, comprehensive corporate sponsor package, with both marketing and VIP concert-attending benefits.

Businesses of any size will have the opportunity to support Santa Barbara County’s First Responders, while earning some “rock-n-roll street cred” by associating their name with the upcoming fundraising concert, headlined by Maroon 5 at the Costner oceanside estate in Summerland, Friday, Sept. 22.

One805’s fundraising success was kicked off by Katy Perry’s performance following the Thomas wildfire and deadly Montecito mudslide, but it has come primarily from generous individual donors.

The donors have been able to provide Santa Barbara County’s Fire, Sheriff and city Police departments with needed emergency equipment, from medevac conversion kits for the Firehawk, to power generators.

Simultaneously, One805 also funds and administers a PTSD-mental health counseling program for all 772 Santa Barbara County firefighters and their families.

“Each year our event grows, but unfortunately, with the rapid increase in extreme weather events, so do the needs of our first responders,” said Richard Weston-Smith, One805’s co-founder/COO.

“We realized the importance of giving both local and national companies the opportunity to participate, as corporate social impact (CSR) becomes more significant in today’s workplace environment,” Weston-Smith said, referring to the Harvard Business Review and Duke University’s multiple reports of corporate philanthropy’s impact to the bottom line in many industries.

“Not only are customers or consumers choosing to support companies who do good, it has also been proven to be beneficial for employee recruitment and retention,” he said.

One805’s corporate sponsor levels were designed so that even a local taco shop or boutique can support those who protect them, with prices ranging from $750-$100,000.

The corresponding marketing benefits for each level provide the supporting companies with exposure before, during and after the event, such as:

  • Naming rights for large and small areas of the event, from the valet parking station all the way to the main stage.
  • An onsite presence (dependent on sponsor level) to display wares or engage with concert attendees.
  • Logo inclusion on the main stage video screens, signage, and ads in the a Playbill-styled program.
  • Promotion to One805 year-round supporters and ticket holders through newsletters and social media.
  • For those businesses who entertain clients, separate, personalized VIP concert experiences.

One805 supports Santa Barbara County’s First Responders in two areas. Its Advisory Council is composed of Sheriff Bill Brown and the chiefs of all 10 County First Responder departments, which provides a single phone call to make when an urgent emergency equipment need arrives.

The other focus is reducing depression, anger management, addiction and suicide rates within the fire departments.

Recognizing that counseling and therapy is not one-size-fits-all, One805 Board member and former firefighter Tony Pighetti has worked to create an anonymous, stigma-free program that addresses repeated exposure to heartbreaking tragedies.

One805 has the support of internationally recognized entertainment icons, who donate their time, talent and celebrity influence to drive enthusiasm to their fundraising events.
