To showcase our support of the event, One805LIVE!, Noozhawk spoke with Richard Weston Smith, COO and Co-Founder of One805 to learn more about their event.

Question: What is the name and date of your event?
Answer: One805LIVE! 25th and 26th September 2026
Q: What is the mission, goal, and/or theme of this occasion?
A: One805LIVE! is far more than a concert. It is the principal annual fundraising and awareness event for One805, bringing our community together to support the firefighters, law-enforcement officers, emergency medical personnel, dispatchers, and other first responders who protect Santa Barbara County every day.
One805 was created following the Thomas Fire and Montecito Debris Flow, when our community witnessed both the extraordinary courage of our first responders and the enormous physical and emotional burden placed upon them. Our mission is simple: to take care of those who take care of us.
Working directly with the County’s Fire, Police and Sheriff’s chiefs, One805 provides equipment, resources and support that individual departments cannot always obtain through their normal public budgets. Because our Advisory Council includes the leaders of the agencies we serve, the assistance we provide is based on needs identified by the first responders themselves.
This year, One805LIVE! is placing a particular focus on first-responder mental wellness.
First responders routinely encounter situations most of us will never experience: devastating accidents, fires, violence, serious injury, the loss of life and moments of profound human distress.
They are trained to remain calm, take control and help others through the worst moments of their lives. However, the emotional consequences of those experiences do not simply disappear when a shift ends.
The effects are often cumulative. A first responder may cope successfully with hundreds of difficult calls before one particular incident—or the accumulated weight of many incidents—begins to affect sleep, relationships, decision-making, physical health or the ability to continue doing the job. Their families frequently carry part of that burden as well.
One805 has already helped provide nearly 3,500 hours of confidential counseling to first responders and their families. This work has demonstrated both the scale of the need and the difference that early, trusted intervention can make.
We are now building the One805 First Responder Mental Wellness Endowment Fund to protect this service for the future. Our goal is to create a $10 million endowment capable of providing a dependable, long-term source of funding for confidential counseling, peer-support development, training and related mental-wellness services throughout Santa Barbara County.
Q: Have you held this event before?
A: Yes, we started with the Kick Ash Bash, after the Thomas fire and Debris Flow in 2018. Since then we have done 5 more annual events and this will be our 6th.
Q: Tell us some more details about your celebration?
A: One805LIVE! returns on Saturday, September 26, 2026, to Kevin Costner’s oceanfront estate for a night of music in support of Santa Barbara County’s first responders.
This year’s expanded show brings together Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo, The Temptations, The Four Tops, The Fray, George Thorogood, Alan Parsons, Kevin Costner & Modern West, The High Kings, Slightly Stoopid and DJ Samantha Ronson. At the heart of the evening is One805’s focus on mental wellness: raising awareness of the pressures first responders face and support for the Mental Wellness Endowment Fund, which aims to provide lasting access to confidential care for those who take care of us.
Q: How do people get involved with your event? (volunteer, attend, etc.) – If your event includes ticket sales, please note the price and include a link to purchase tickets.
A: Tickets are on sale at www.one805.org. There are many different level tickets, from $300 upwards, and all have a significant tax deductible component! So, a $300 ticket could get you a $250 tax rebate come year end!

A: We will, likely in December, details to follow.
Q: What are you planning as a post-event follow up?
A: Nothing right now – we will all be exhausted!
