In honor of Alan Parsons’ 75th Birthday, One805 will host a tribute concert to raise funds for Santa Barbara County First Responders Wednesday, Dec. 20 at the Lobero Theatre, 33 E Canon Perdido St., Santa Barbara.
The lineup includes Alan Parsons OBE, Michael McDonald, Al Stewart, Joe Bonamassa, Terry Sylvester (The Hollies), David Pack (Ambrosia), magicians Stetson and Bill Cook, and special guests.
Legendary engineer, producer and Grammy Award winner, Parsons landed a job at the famous Abbey Road Studios at the age of 19 and was fortunate enough to work as assistant engineer on the last two albums by The Beatles.
After he qualified as a fully-fledged recording engineer, he went on to work with Paul McCartney and The Hollies among many others.
But it was his contribution as engineer on Pink Floyd’s classic “The Dark Side Of The Moon” that got him world attention, and led to successes as a producer, notably with the hugely successful “Year Of The Cat” album with Al Stewart, and two albums with American prog rock band Ambrosia.
VIP tickets for the event include a special pre-show reception, premium seating, as well as an opportunity to join the artist backstage for a special meet-and-greet.
Proceeds will benefit One805 and the First Responders of Santa Barbara County. Many of the funds go toward equipment, 24/7 accessible mental wellness services for all First Responders, and disaster preparedness.
