Organic Soup Kitchen has added a registered dietitian to support its mission of delivering healing, nutrient-dense meals to those facing chronic illness, cancer, and food insecurity.

The development marks a key step forward in Organic Soup Kitchen’s commitment to improve health outcomes through food as medicine.

Starting this summer, the nonprofit Organic Soup Kitchen will also be starting a new series of educational classes focused on the power of nutrition.

The interactive sessions will cover such topics as cancer recovery diets, anti-inflammatory eating, gut health, meal planning on a budget, and everyday tips to support long-term wellness.

“Our mission has always been to provide not just food security, but true nutritional support,” said Andrea Slaby, COO. “Bringing a registered dietitian onto the team deepens that promise.

“It ensures our meals are not only made with clean ingredients but also thoughtfully designed to support healing,” she said.

The new community classes will be available in-person at Organic Soup Kitchen’s Santa Barbara location. All are welcome to attend, whether they are navigating a health challenge, caring for a loved one, or simply seeking to make more informed dietary choices.
