Dr. Justin K. Chang, Lompoc Health’s newest orthopedic surgeon, will discuss rotator cuff injuries at a free lecture, 6 p.m. May 15 at the Dick DeWees Community and Senior Center.
Dr. Chang will talk about the spectrum of rotator cuff injuries, from strains to complete tears. He will offer information on prevention, non-operative treatment options, surgical intervention with an emphasis on arthroscopic, minimally invasive surgery and recovery from injury or surgery.
The lecture will also cover physical therapy and injections, and provide details about the advantages of arthroscopic surgery.
Dr. Chang, who sees patients at Lompoc Health – North H Center, earned his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts.
The lecture is part of the Lompoc Hospital District Foundation’s Community Education lecture series.
