During overnight hours, 8 p.m.-6 a.m. Monday, April 14 and Tuesday, April 15, Goleta’s Project Connect contractor is scheduled to pave portions of Hollister Avenue and Dearborn Place in Old Town.
The contractor will mitigate noise, as possible, during this work, the city said. Motorists are asked to follow signage and share the road with bicyclists and pedestrians.
Starting Wednesday, April 16, drivers on Dearborn Place will turn right onto a portion of the newly paved Hollister Avenue. The change will not impact drivers on Hollister Avenue.
Project Connect is a multi-year project to enhance pedestrian access and safety; improve road conditions; and build key linkage throughout Goleta while increasing storm water flow capacity in San Jose Creek under Hollister Bridge, the city said.
The large-scale construction project includes the Ekwill Street & Fowler Road extensions; Hollister Avenue Bridge Replacement Project; two new roundabouts on Hollister Avenue at the Highway 217 interchange; the Hollister Avenue Interim Striping Project; and San Jose Creek flood control capacity improvements.
Project completion is anticipated at the end of 2026.
