Nothing can stop the Oxnard High School Class of 1970 Yellowjackets, not even a pandemic. Their 50th reunion was cancelled, but after a two-year delay, the determined alums will celebrate their 50+2, 1-5 p.m. Sunday, May 22, at Harry’s Berries Farm, 5777 Vineyard Ave., Oxnard.

The event will be shared with Oxnard High’s Class of ’71, whose reunion was also cancelled due to Covid.

Cost to attend is $30 per person, which includes a taco lunch, music, and a reunion T-shirt. Alums will be coming from around the world, including two foreign exchange students from Sweden and the Netherlands.

There are also two events scheduled for the day before, a morning tour of the Oxnard High School campus, and a casual late afternoon gathering, with details to be announced.

RSVP with a check is due by April 9. For more information, contact Roxane (Otani) Fowler, ookiitanixl@gmail.com, or visit the Oxnard High School Class of 1970 Facebook page.
