Two people were arrested Saturday after a lengthy standoff with police at a home on the city’s Westside, according to the Santa Barbara Police Department.
Officers were dispatched at about 8:45 a.m. to a residence on the 2000 block of Mountain Avenue after receiving a report of a possible disturbance, said Sgt. Ethan Ragsdale.
“The reporting party described hearing several loud ‘bangs’ and subjects screaming inside a residence,” Ragsdale told Noozhawk.
Responding officers were refused entry to the home, Ragsdale said, and a perimeter was set up.
Later in the morning, two adult occupants of the home complied with orders to surrender, and were placed under arrest, Ragsdale said.
Isai Perez, 32, was booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail on suspicion of delaying an investigation/resisting an officer and child endangerment, both misdemeanors, Ragsdale said.
Vanessa Ayala, 29, was issued a citation for alleged misdemeanor delaying an investigation/resisting an officer and child endangerment, he added.
Three juveniles reportedly were evacuated from the home prior to the pair’s arrest.
