”Are we alone? Does love survive the death of cells? What do we owe to the memories of one another’s hearts?”

Artist Dario Robleto, whose work asks viewers to consider the questions above, will be joined in conversation by author Emily Rapp Black, 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8 in the Santa Barbara Museum of Art’s Mary Craig Auditorium, 1130 State St.

The talk, Parallel Stories Why Empathy Matters, coincides with the opening of the SBMA exhibit Dario Robleto: The Signal. For more on the exhibit, click here.

Parallel Stories is a literary and performing arts series that pairs art and artists with award-winning authors, like Rapp Black, and performers of regional, national and international acclaim.

Parallel Stories functions as a multidisciplinary lens through which to view SBMA’s collection and special exhibits.

The Parallel Stories event is free to attend for students and Museum Circle members; $10 for SBMA members; $15 for non-members.
