Santa Barbara County Animal Services (SBCAS) and BISSELL Pet Foundation is partnering together for the Empty the Shelters national campaign for pet adoption, joining more than 400 participating shelters in 45 states.
From Sept. 18-30, all Santa Barbara County shelters will waive adoption fees to support the national campaign to help pets find their forever homes.
All three SBCAS shelter locations will be open 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday-Sunday at:
- 548 W. Foster Road, Santa Maria
- 1501 W. Central Ave., Lompoc
- 5473 Overpass Road, Santa Barbara
Santa Barbara County Animal Care shelter locations will be open with limited hours, 9 a.m.-noon, Sunday Sept. 20.
The campaign includes adoptions from partners ASAP (Animal Shelter Assistance
Program) Cats and BUNS (Bunnies Urgently Needing Shelter), both at Santa Barbara County Animal Care’s Santa Barbara campus.
To help deserving shelter animals find loving homes, BISSELL Pet Foundation, a national
animal welfare organization that works to end pet homelessness, is sponsoring adoption
fees.
Available pets can be seen at the shelter’s website.
In addition to the waived fees, every pet available for adoption has already been
vaccinated, spayed or neutered, and microchipped.
Thanks to the Santa Barbara County Animal Care Foundation, every pet adopted during Empty the Shelters also comes with 30 days of free pet insurance through MetLife.
