A pedestrian died Thursday night after being struck by a train in Summerland, according to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office.
Emergency personnel responded shortly after 9:45 p.m. to the incident near Lookout Park, reportedly involving a northbound Amtrak Pacific Surfliner.
The victim — an adult male — was declared dead at the scene, according to Raquel Zick, a sheriff’s spokeswoman.
The man’s name was not released pending notification of relatives.
