A pedestrian was taken to the hospital on Friday after being struck by a vehicle in downtown Santa Barbara, according to the Santa Barbara City Fire Department.

Firefighters and other emergency personnel were dispatched shortly after 8 a.m. to Mission and Castillo streets, where they found the injured 75-year-old woman, fire Battalion Chief Cory Cloud told Noozhawk.

She was taken by AMR ambulance to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. Her name and details on her condition were not available.

It was not known whether the driver of the vehicle was cited.

The collision was under investigation by the Santa Barbara Police Department.
