
Peter ‘Pete’ Pentecost, 61, passed away on July 10, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Pete was born on Dec. 24, 1964, in Santa Barbara to Robert “Bob” and Lillian Pentecost.
He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps, carrying the values of loyalty, strength and dedication throughout his life.
Pete was one of a kind. He could be stubborn and hard-headed, but he had a big heart and was the kind of person who would do anything to help someone in need.
Pete was preceded in death by his father Robert Pentecost; brother Robert “Bobby” Pentecost; and his best friend and loyal companion Bocephus “Bo.”
He is survived by his mother Lillian Pentecost; daughter, Krista Pentecost; son, Peter “PJ” Pentecost; former wife Brenda Pentecost (Scacchi); sisters Margaret Santarosa (John) and Kathleen “Kathy” Thursby; as well as nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss him dearly.
Pete’s memory will live on through the stories shared, the laughter he brought, and the kindness he showed throughout his life. He will be remembered for his big personality, generous heart, sense of humor, and the many lives he touched.
A celebration of Pete’s life will be held noon-5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27 at Tucker’s Grove,
Area 5 (near the dog park). In honor of Pete and the things he loved, the family encourages guests to wear NASCAR, football, or hunting-themed attire as we gather to celebrate his life and share memories.
