UCSB Arts & Lectures presents Grammy Award-winning pianist Daniil Trifonov, 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30 at UCSB Campbell Hall.

Arrive early at 5:30 p.m. to celebrate A&L’s 2025-26 opening night. Ticketholders are invited to a pre-concert Season Kickoff Reception featuring music, mocktails and a selection of hors d’oeuvres on Campbell Hall Plaza.

“Trifonov returns to Santa Barbara with the electrifying presence that has made him one of the most captivating pianists of his generation,” according to Arts & Lectures (A&L).

Trifonov combines technical command with poetic sensitivity, according to (A&L).
In the program, he performs several pieces by Prokofiev and his contemporaries, along with a canonical sonata by Robert Schumann, works that highlight his gift for shaping sound into story and revealing the emotional depths behind the notes.

Trifonovis a solo artist, champion of the concerto repertoire, chamber and vocal collaborator and composer.

“Combining consummate technique with rare sensitivity and depth, his performances are a perpetual source of wonder to audiences and critics alike,” A&L said.

He won the Grammy Award for Best Instrumental Solo Album of 2018 with “Transcendental,” the Liszt collection that marked his third title as an exclusive Deutsche Grammophon artist.

Trifonov’s 2025-26 season includes three performances at Carnegie Hall.

During the 2010-11 season, Trifonov won medals at three of the music world’s most prestigious competitions: Third Prize in Warsaw’s Chopin Competition, First Prize in Tel Aviv’s Rubinstein Competition and both First Prize and Grand Prix in Moscow’s Tchaikovsky Competition.
