Two men are in custody as suspects in a pair of store robberies that occurred in Santa Maria — one in February of this year, and the other in November 2024.
Carlos J. Aguirre, 30, of Santa Maria was arrested Thursday in connection with the robbery of the Sunrise Market, 2880 Santa Maria Way, on Nov. 20, 2024, and Maguey Liquor, 400 W. Main St., on Feb. 8, 2025, according to Lt. Paul Van Meel of the Santa Maria Police Department.
Raul Perez Muniz, 34, of King City was arrested in connection with the robberies in King City on May 6, Van Meel said.
Both remained in custody Friday at the Santa Barbara County Northern Branch Jail, with bail set at $500,000.
Muniz has been charged by the Santa Barbara County District Attorney’s Office with two counts of second-degree robbery, and one count of preventing or dissuading a witness or victim by threats, all felonies.
Charges have not been filed yet against Aguirre.
The Police Department is asking that anyone with information on these crimes contact Det. Cole Whitney at 805.928.3781, ext. 1329.
