A man was fatally shot Sunday night in Lompoc, leading police to launch the city’s first homicide investigation of 2025
At approximately 10 p.m., personnel from the Lompoc Police and Fire departments were dispatched to the shooting on the 800 block of North Seventh Street, near East Pine Avenue, Sgt. Vincent Magallon said.
Emergency personnel found a 29-year-old male in the area with a gunshot wound, Magallon added.
Officers began medical aid to the victim until paramedics and firefighters took over.
The victim was transported to Marian Regional Medical Center, where he died due to his injuries, Magallon said.
The man’s name was being withheld pending notification of relatives.
No arrests or possible motives have been released.
