Officers with the Lompoc Police Department on Thursday arrested a woman suspected of stealing from the city’s Ulta Beauty shop, along with stores in Goleta, Oxnard and maybe more.

At approximately 6 p.m. Thursday, Lompoc police arrested Jennifer Hurtado, 29, of Van Nuys, for suspicion of felony theft after she stole more than $1,600 worth of merchandise from the Ulta Beauty store at 615 North H St., Sgt. Scott Morgan said.

Store managers called Lompoc Police while Hurtado was leaving the store and provided officers with the description and license plate of the vehicle she was driving. As officers were arriving, they witnessed the vehicle and conducted an enforcement stop.

Officers found Hurtado had merchandise she had taken from the Lompoc Ulta Beauty shop as well as merchandise she had stolen earlier in the day from the Ulta Beauty stores in Goleta, at Camino Real Marketplace, and in Oxnard, Morgan said.

In total, over $7,600 worth of stolen Ulta Beauty merchandise was located and seized by LPD officers, Morgan added.

During interviews with police, Hurtado allegedly confessed to the thefts from three stores, Morgan said.

“Ulta Beauty management advised that Hurtado is a suspect in multiple thefts from the Ulta Beauty chain in different cities and states, with losses amounting to approximately $152,000,”  Morgan added.

Hurtado was booked into the Lompoc City Jail  on suspicion of burglary and possession of stolen property.
