Authorities have released the name of a motorcyclist killed Sunday morning in a crash involving a pickup truck in Santa Maria.
Killed in the crash was Vincent “Vinny” Hargadon, 30, of Santa Maria, Sgt. Shane Armstrong of the Santa Maria Police Department said Tuesday.

At approximately 11 a.m. Sunday, police officers, along with personnel from the Santa Maria Fire Department and American Medical Response, responded to the crash involving a vehicle and a motorcycle on the 600 block of East Boone Street, Armstrong said.
Officers found the rider lying in the roadway between South Miller Street and South College Drive.
The man was transported to Marian Regional Medical Center for treatment but died due to his injuries, Armstrong said.
The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation, Armstrong added.
A GoFundMe page, “In Loving Memory of Vincent “Vinny” Hargadon,” has raised more than $22,000 as of Tuesday for funeral and other costs.
Hargadon was remembered as “a beloved son, brother, father, and friend” who especially was “a devoted father to his beautiful daughter, Easton.”
“The pain of losing him is felt immeasurably by his family, as well as all who were fortunate to know him,” according to the GoFundMe.
In addition to his daughter, survivors also include his mother, Rachel; brother, Rocky; and two sisters, Anna and Lauryn.
This is the second tragedy in less than four months for the Hargadon family, who lost patriarch William Thomas Hargadon in July at the age of 65.
The GoFundMe mentioned the father’s recent death adding that the son “now joins his father, William, in heaven, reunited with the man who shaped his life in so many ways.”
“Vinny’s memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, and in the beautiful life of his daughter, Easton, who was his pride and joy. We are all forever grateful for the moments we shared with him, and we know his spirit will continue to watch over those he loved most.”
