Investigators were searching Saturday for the suspect in a shooting that sent a Santa Maria woman to the hospital, according to the Santa Maria Police Department.
Officers were dispatched shortly after midnight to a report of a shooting at an apartment complex on the 1000 block of West Morrison Street, Lt. Todd Logan said.
“Upon arrival, officers located a 32-year-old female who had sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound,” Logan said.
The woman, whose name was not released, was taken to Marian Regional Medical Center for treatment. Details on her condition were not available.
“Officers contacted residents within the apartment complex where the shooting was reported to have occurred, and conducted a sweep of an apartment believed to be associated with the incident,” Logan said. “No additional victims were located.”
As of 9 a.m. Saturday, no arrests had been reported by police, who added that “there is no ongoing threat to the public.”
