Dos Pueblos baseball blanked Oxnard for a 2-0 win on Tuesday at Scott O’Leary Field in Goleta to move into a share of first place in the Channel League.

The Chargers (17-10, 9-4 Channel League) are now tied atop the league standings with rival San Marcos with one league game remaining. Dos Pueblos will be on the road against Oxnard on Friday, while the Royals will head across town to take on Santa Barbara High.

In Tuesday’s win, Liam Shea hurled 5 ⅔ scoreless frames while striking out a pair. He left runners in scoring position in the sixth, but Nick Salcido came in and recorded a strikeout to escape the jam.

Salcido then went back out for the seventh and struck out the side to seal the win for Dos Pueblos.

On the offensive side of the ball, Evan Bean opened the scoring with an RBI single in the third to bring home Matti Di Maggio.

The second and final run of the contest came in the fifth when Di Maggio once again came around to score, this time on a two-out single by Stone Saunders.
