Dos Pueblos boys golf made the trip up to the valley and earned a non-league victory over Santa Ynez High on Tuesday at Alisal River Course.

The Chargers ended the day with a team score of 408, while the Pirates combined for a score of 420 on the par-72 course.

Connor Nightingale was the top golfer for Dos Pueblos, carding a 77. He was followed by fellow Chargers Orlando Ramirez (81), Parker Hickman (82), Coulter Jay (83) and Colt Roberts (85).

“I was proud of the way my team came through at the end of the day to win the close match despite the tough winds,” Dos Pueblos head coach Kevin Ahlers said.

The Chargers (3-3) will host Santa Barbara High at Rancho San Marcos Golf Course on Thursday at 2 p.m.

Santa Barbara High 202, Oxnard 247

The Dons bested the Yellow Jackets in a nine-hole, non-league match on Tuesday at River Ridge Golf Course, a par 35.

Santa Barbara High’s Alex Ortega earned medalist honors with his score of 37, while fellow Don Dimitri Tar was the only other golfer to shoot sub-40 at 39.

Meanwhile, the Dons got solid performances from Peyton Webley (41), Tyler Satterberg (42), Owen Quirk (43) and Jack Alzina (45).

“The team has been continuing to improve early on in the season and noticing some of the rewards of the hard work they have put in,” Santa Barbara High head coach Ryan Throop said.

The Dons (2-0) will take on the Chargers on Thursday.

San Marcos 381, St. Francis 394, Valencia 411

The Royals finished on top of the pack in a three-way match against St. Francis and Valencia on Tuesday at The Oaks Course in Valencia, a par 72.

“Really tough course today. The boys did a great job managing the course and putting together some solid rounds,” San Marcos head coach Jeff Ashton said.

Andy Keenan continued his hot start to the season for the Royals, shooting a one-under-par 71. He has been under par in three of the team’s four matches.

The other San Marcos golfers were Nate Duva (43), Axl Wedhammar (76), Austin Downing (77) and Ethan Klawuhn (84).

The Royals (7-0) will compete in the 20-team Coyote Invitational at the Calabasas Country Club on Monday.

“I know the guys are excited to try and put together a strong showing there as there are many talented teams,” Ashton said.

Bishop Diego 206, Coastal Christian 271

The Cardinals defended their home course with a win over Coastal Christian on Tuesday at Santa Barbara Golf Club.

Bishop Diego’s Jack Eliassen turned in a strong performance to lead all golfers in the field, shooting a 38 in the nine-hole match.

He was joined by Luke Eliassen (41), Gabe Villa (42), Ben Zoltoski (42), Joe Derosa (43) and Bryan Gutierrez (46).
