Bishop Diego boys volleyball made quick work of Dunn with a three-set sweep on Tuesday in Santa Ynez, 25-8, 25-5, 25-12.

The Cardinals (17-8, 6-0 Tri-Valley League) continued their dominant league campaign by hitting a blistering .723.

“After a good weekend of volleyball, it’s easy to rest on your laurels and take this match lightly,” Bishop Diego head coach Dillan Bennett said. “Anytime we travel up to play Dunn, we always run into some type of challenge. Today was no different, and I’m pleased with how the guys stayed focused throughout the match.”

Will Neubauer facilitated the potent Cardinal attack with 36 assists, feeding John Michael Flint (11 kills on 14 swings), Nick Malesky (10 kills on 11 swings) and Thomas Gaggs (9 kills on 12 swings).

“I thought today Will did an excellent job of changing up what we were doing offensively,” Bennett said. “In matches like these, our goal is to win every free ball opportunity. We got a lot of them tonight, and Will did a great job getting our hitters the ball in the right spot at the right time.”

Bishop Diego also excelled from the service line, racking up a season-high 19 aces in the sweep.

The Cardinals will remain on the road with a matchup against Malibu on Thursday.

Carpinteria 3, Channel Islands 0

The Warriors defeated home court with a win over the Raiders on Tuesday, 26-24, 26-24, 25-22.

“This victory meant a lot to us, especially considering we lost to them in five sets earlier this season,” Carpinteria High head coach Favian Muralles said. “I’m incredibly proud of the way our team played tonight.

“They were relentless — touching every ball, staying locked in, and pushing through each point with heart.”

Alan Maya flirted with a triple-double, collecting 10 kills, 11 assists and nine digs. Meanwhile, both Jesus Campuzano and Kevin Bernal recorded 15 digs. Alariuziel Rodriguez tallied six kills and 10 digs.

“The stats were spread across multiple players, which truly shows the dedication and unity of the team as a whole,” Muralles said. “Everyone stepped up and contributed in key moments. That kind of balance and trust in each other is what makes matches like this so special.”

The Warriors will host Hueneme for another league match on Thursday.

The Dons pulled out a five-set win on the road on Tuesday against the Yellow Jackets, 20-25, 25-13, 25-17, 25-27, 15-7.

“I give Oxnard a lot of credit; they came ready to play,” Santa Barbara High head coach Chad Arneson said. “We will take the win and learn from this experience and realize that you can’t take any game for granted, especially when a Channel League title is at stake.”

Luke Zuffelato filled up the stat sheet with a whopping 30 kills to go along with eight digs and two blocks.

Meanwhile, Chase Holdren fought through a twisted ankle to accumulate 46 assists and nine digs.

Jack Goligoski led the defense with 24 digs and four assists. Offensively, Kristian Dybdahl tallied 16 kills and Benicio Duarte ended with 15.
