Bishop Diego boys volleyball continued its hot start to the season with a four-set win over Del Sol on Tuesday night inside the Brick House, 25-13, 25-23, 26-28, 25-16.
The Cardinals (4-0, 1-0 Tri-Valley League) got contributions from up and down the roster to secure the non-league victory.

“Tonight was a great opportunity to get guys into a varsity match,” Bishop Diego head coach Dillan Bennett said. “It’s rare for us to be able to be in a position to get some guys rest while remaining competitive at the varsity level.
“While it may not have been our prettiest match, we had a great opportunity to give guys valuable match experience at the varsity level, and the overall competitiveness of the match was great.”
The senior trio of Luca Moreno-Murphy, Nico DeRosa and Tua Rojas led the charge for the Cardinals. Moreno-Murphy tallied a team-high 11 kills, while DeRosa and Rojas recorded 10 kills apiece.
“I thought Luca, Tua and Nico did a nice job and competed well tonight,” Bennett said. “I also want to recognize guys like George Velazquez, Ian Bartley and Mikey Gomez who all made their varsity debut in the lineup tonight.”
Luke Walters distributed the ball around for the Cardinals and ended with 32 assists, while Kingston Bustos chipped in six kills.
Bishop Diego will host rival Laguna Blanca for its next matchup on Thursday, March 5 at 5 p.m. inside the Brick House.
Dos Pueblos 3, Oak Park 0
The Chargers picked up another win in the form of a sweep of Oak Park on Tuesday in Goleta, 25-17, 30-28, 25-13.
“I was very proud of our focus from the service line tonight,” Dos Pueblos head coach Ehren Hug said. “Ben (Wojogbe) had a couple of really steady runs and we kept the pressure on the opponent by making them pass.
“Evan Daugherty was firing lasers back there too. Enzo DeMatteo had a well rounded night, showing fire and leadership on and off the court. He was hyping his guys up a lot tonight. He was in a groove setting the ball too.”
Wojogbe filled up the stat sheet with 10 kills, seven digs and six aces for the Chargers. Meanwhile, Keenan Bower and Kevin McGibben put up 16 and 13 assists, respectively.
Dos Pueblos (4-1) will be on the road against Valencia on Wednesday at 5:15 p.m.
Carpinteria High 3, Pacifica 0
The Warriors defended their home court with a sweep of the Tritons on Tuesday in Carpinteria, 25-22, 26-24, 25-23.
“We started strong in the first set, building up to a nine-point lead at one point,” Carpinteria High head coach Favian Muralles said. “In the second set, we found ourselves down by seven, but the boys showed resilience and battled back to take the set and maintain momentum.
“Overall, both teams competed well and made it an exciting match. For me, it was a bittersweet night, as Pacifica is my alma mater and I had the opportunity to coach against my former coach.”
Rafael Cintura (12 kills, 29 digs) and Jesus “Chuy” Reyes (15 assists, 11 digs) each recorded double-doubles for the Warriors.
Meanwhile, Alan Maya hammered home seven kills and dished out 12 assists, and Alariuziel Rodriguez scooped up 21 digs.
Carpinteria (2-1) will play host to Santa Maria on Friday.
