Dos Pueblos girls water polo dominated from start to finish en route to a 19-1 Channel League win over Oxnard on Thursday.

The Charger defense led the way with 12 steals while the goalie duo of Megan Garner and Reagan Mack held the Yellow Jackets scoreless for the first three quarters of play.

Meanwhile, Dos Pueblos scored 15 goals in the first three quarters to pull away for the dominant win.

Kyra Jones led the offense with five goals while Addison Parrish, Hana Abel and Franki Court finished with three goals apiece. Alina King helped facilitate the offensive outburst with six assists.

The Chargers (8-6, 3-0 Channel League) will host Marlborough High for a non-league game on Saturday at 9:30 a.m.

San Marcos 15, Rio Mesa 5

The Royals earned a comfortable league win of their own on Thursday, besting the Spartans in a 10-goal game.

Makenna Stuart filled up the stat sheet in the victory, collecting four goals, three steals, and three assists. Meanwhile, Maxine Nocker tallied two goals, three assists, one steal and one ejection earned.

Jessica Prykhitko rounded out the all-around win with two goals, two steals and an assist.

San Marcos will take on Orange Lutheran on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Dos Pueblos’ Elings Aquatic Center.

Ventura 21, Santa Barbara High 8

The Dons struggled to keep up with the Cougars in a league loss on Thursday.

Juliana Horton accounted for most of Santa Barbara High’s scoring with five goals to go along with three ejections earned. Rose Nelley netted two goals of her own while Kana Wolfe rounded out the scoring with one.

Defensively, Nina Abraham collected six saves in one half at goalie.

The Dons will host Carpinteria High at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
