San Marcos girls water polo filled up the scoring column en route to an 18-10 win over Oxnard in a Channel League matchup on Tuesday.
Ella Grube and Jade Pattison were in the middle of the offensive attack, scoring six and five goals, respectively.
Meanwhile, Maxine Nocker turned in a strong all-around performance with three goals and three assists. Kenzie Hessel also had a solid night in the cage with four blocks and a goal in the field.
“I am impressed with Maxine Nocker. She has improved so much over her for years in the program,” San Marcos head coach Chuckie Roth said. “She’s an amazing young woman who will impact our community and I’m proud of how much she has improved.
“Also first-year goalie Kenzie Hessel has made a genuine impact on our program. She’s a two-sport, same-season athlete, balancing soccer and water polo. She’s committed accountable and makes others around her better.”
The Royals, now 17-5 on the year, will take on Oaks Christian on Thursday to begin the Newport Elite 8 Tournament.
Dos Pueblos 17, Rio Mesa 0
The Chargers went on the road and came away with a dominant shutout win over the Spartans.
Franki Court scored the first of her two goals 20 seconds into the game and Dos Pueblos never looked back, cruising to the victory.
Addison Parrish led the team with four goals while Dev Wigo helped facilitate the offensive attack with five assists. Reagan Mack closed out the final three quarters of the game and tallied six blocks.
The Chargers (10-6, 4-0 Channel League) will look to remain undefeated in league play against Buena on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. at Elings Aquatic Center.
Carpinteria High 13, Channel Islands 2
The Warriors cruised to a win over Channel Islands to remain undefeated in league play on Tuesday.
“We brought the entire team today, everyone got playing time and the scoring was distributed evenly,” Carpinteria High head coach Jon Otsuki said. “We had a very busy game schedule and now we need to sort through areas we need to work on to prepare for CIF Playoffs.”
Hazel Dugre led the charge with two goals, two assists and three steals while Guilia Piccoletti collected one goal, two assists and three steals of her own.
Holliday Smith (2), Allison Banks, Mila Michele, Lucia Smith, Madison Lee, Mina Handall, Penny Ornelas, Molly Diamond and Gioia Martins all scored in the victory as well.
In the cage, Gwen Posma and Kathryn Caskey recorded four blocks apiece.
Carpinteria (17-6, 7-0 CCL) will take on Thousand Oaks in a non-league game next Monday.
Camarillo 14, Santa Barbara High 9
The Dons dropped a non-league game against Camarillo on Tuesday.
Juliana Horton was all over the pool in the loss, tallying three goals, eight steals, four earned exclusions and two field blocks.
Rose Nelley also scored three times while Sasha Jones and Ava Jordan rounded out the scoring with two goals and one goal, respectively.
Santa Barbara High will host Rio Mesa on Thursday at 3:30 p.m.
