Santa Barbara High girls water polo swept a non-league doubleheader on Tuesday, taking down Carpinteria High and Santa Paula at the Santa Barbara High pool.

The Dons began the day with a 12-5 win over the Warriors powered by a seven-goal, five-steal performance by Juliana Horton.

Meanwhile, Yesenia Dunn tallied two goals to go along with four steals and Ava Jordan, Naleah LaRiba-Kveta and Rose Nelley scored one goal apiece.

Holliday Smith led Carpinteria High with three goals while Madison Lee chipped in a pair of goals to round out the scoring. In the cage, Gwen Potsma recorded 10 blocked shots.

The Santa Barbara High offense stayed hot with a 12-8 win over Santa Paula where Nelley filled up the stat sheet with four goals, four assists and three field blocks.

Dunn had another strong offensive game with four goals and two assists while Horton scored three goals before heading into the cage and picking up 11 saves. Nina Abraham had a goal and a field block as well.

The Dons (6-5) will open up the Thousand Oaks Winter Classic on Friday against Birmingham High.

San Marcos 14, Buena 4

The Royals cruised to a 14-4 victory over the Bulldogs in a Channel League matchup on Tuesday in Ventura.

Charlotte Raisin outscored Buena by herself, pouring in five goals to go along with three steals and an assist.

Meanwhile, Jade Pattison (2 goals, 2 steals, 1 block) and Naomi Enright (2 steals, 1 turnover, 1 goal) turned in strong performances in the win.

The Royals (13-3) will be back in action for the Santa Barbara Tournament of Champions, opening play on Friday at 1:15 p.m. at Santa Barbara High against the winner of San Clemente and Mira Costa.
