Providence High girls volleyball opened Condor League play with a sweep of Oak Grove on Wednesday.
The Patriots played on Oak Grove’s unique grass courts, coming away with set wins of 25-10, 25-11, 25-9.
“The girls really embraced the grass game today,” Providence coach Taylor Slover said. “They did all good things as if it were indoors. The grass didn’t phase them.”
Sophomore setter Rossie Murren-Doherty led the way with eight aces while Kate Douglas collected five aces and four kills. Daniella Terry also had five aces, adding in two kills.
Providence also fielded its first JV team in “quite some time,” according to Slover. At the JV level, the Patriots came away with a 2-0 win.
“It was fun too that the JV was also able to get their first win,” Slover said.
