Southern California Edison (SCE) has notified affected customers that it is considering a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) in parts of Santa Barbara County due to an increased risk for wildfires.
The outage may begin as soon as 3 p.m. today, Oct. 27, though it may occur earlier or later depending on actual weather conditions.
PSPS areas under consideration include the Gaviota Coast area between Tajiguas and Farren Road and addresses in the Painted Cave, Patterson/Turnpike/Calle Real/Highway 154 areas.
SCE has notified all residents/businesses that are in the area under consideration, but to double check, enter your address here.
An SCE Community Resource Center will be open from 1-10 p.m. today at the Residence Inn in Goleta, 6350 Hollister Ave. People affected by a PSPS can go to charge their devices and get information at the Residence Inn.
