Southern California Edison may cut off power to some eastern Santa Barbara and Montecito neighborhoods this week due to “increased fire conditions.”

The Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) warning extends from 6 p.m. Wednesday through 3 a.m. Thursday.

SCE could shut off power earlier or later depending on the weather, according to the Santa Barbara County Office of Emergency Management.

The SCE Outage Map shows the potential outage area between Milpas Street in Santa Barbara and San Ysidro Road in Montecito.

The Office of Emergency Management sent alert messages to residents in the possible PSPS area Monday night.

“If you live or work in or near this area, you should make preparations for a possible multiple-day power outage,” OEM said.

The National Weather Service issued a Wind Advisory for Santa Barbara County’s South Coast, which is in effect through Thursday morning.
