Bishop Diego’s football team completed a perfect spring season with a 33-14 victory over Camino League opponent Newbury Park on Saturday night.

Qu’Ran Gossett ran for four touchdowns, three coming in the first half. He also blocked a punt and recorded a sack as the Cardinals finished 5-0 in the delayed COVID-19 season. They beat three of their Camino League foes: St. Bonaventure, Camarillo and Newbury Park, and also won non-league games against Simi Valley and Bakersfield Christian.

Gossett’s last touchdown was set up by defensive lineman S’ue Luamanu. He stripped the ball from the Newbury Park quarterback, giving Bishop the ball deep in Panther territory.

Bishop’s other scored came on a Michael Luckhurst 15-yard pass to  Johnny Alvarado.
