Lompoc Indivisible invites the community to kick off the New Year with a Signs of Fascism protest, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, corner of North H Street and Central Avenue, Lompoc.
“It’s a new year, and we are demonstrating to raise awareness in the community about what the rise of authoritarianism looks like and continue to send a message that we will continue to fight for freedom and democracy in 2026,” organizers said.
“The demonstration will focus on displaying black signs with white lettering that state what fascism looks like in everyday life as we work, go to school, and go about our daily lives,” organizers said.
Lompoc Indivisible is asking participants to dress in black and white.
“We will also spread out so that we are all about 10 feet apart,” organizers said. “We want to be sure the signs are all readable by passing cars.
“We welcome participants to dress in all black or black & white, wear a Handmaid’s robe and bonnet, or dress as Ruth Bader Ginsberg, RBG, in black robes as a symbol of justice.”

“This is about our community standing together in solidarity against the rapid rise of authoritarianism in America at the hands of the Trump administration,” said Tracy Van Wie, organizer with Lompoc Indivisible.
“This is an opportunity to learn how fascism affects us every day and build on the momentum that our resistance movement gained in 2025,” Van Wie said.
