Born on July 19, 1950, in Syracuse, New York, Regina “Gina” Hollywood was the daughter of Marie and Charles Carnrite. She grew up surrounded by her large family: sisters Becky, Laurie and Cindy, and brothers, Charles, Floyd, Peter, Stephen and David.
Gina lived a life dedicated to family, creativity, education, faith, and service to her community. She graduated from high school with an esthetician’s license and began a career that reflected her artistic talents and love of helping others.
Over the years, she taught cake decorating, was PTA President at Washington Elementary School in Santa Barbara, and led Girl Scout Troop 427, sharing her creativity and encouraging others to discover their own talents.
Her greatest professional impact came through her work as director of Cliff Drive Care Center, where she taught pre-kindergarten and managed the after-school and summer camp programs.
Gina had a remarkable gift for nurturing children, building their confidence, and creating a welcoming environment for families.

Through her years of service, she left a lasting legacy in the Santa Barbara community. Many former students and families continued to remember her fondly long after their time in her care, a testament to the love she poured into her work.
A woman of deep faith, Gina was a devoted member of the Free Methodist Church until her passing. Her faith guided her actions and provided a foundation of hope, compassion and grace that she shared generously with everyone around her.
Gina had a passion for arts and crafts and found joy in creating, teaching, and sharing her talents with others. She loved spending time at the beach, and felt a deep connection to the ocean.
While living in Florida, she volunteered with the Sea Turtle Preservation Society, helping protect sea turtles and their habitat, an effort that reflected her lifelong compassion for both people and the natural world.
Gina was married to Mike Hollywood, and although their marriage ended, they remained part of each other’s lives. Their enduring friendship and mutual respect reflected Gina’s generous spirit and her belief in maintaining meaningful connections with those she loved.
Above all, Gina cherished her family. She was a loving mother to Mathew Michael Hollywood and Jennifer Amy-Marie Hollywood. She warmly welcomed her son-in-law Miguel Angel Loeza, was blessed with the addition of his family into her own, and took immense pride in her role as grandmother to Diego and Sofia Loeza.
Her family was the center of her life, and she treasured every moment spent with them.
Gina will be remembered for her generous heart, creative spirit, unwavering dedication to children, steadfast faith, and ability to make everyone feel valued and loved.
Her influence can be seen in the many lives she touched as a teacher, mentor, volunteer, church member, friend, and family member.
Though she is no longer with us, her kindness, wisdom and love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Her legacy is carried forward by her children, grandchildren, extended family, friends, former students, and the countless people whose lives were made brighter by her presence.
