The Santa Barbara County Elections Office invites all eligible citizens to register to vote in anticipation of the upcoming presidential general election Tuesday, Nov. 5.  The last day to register to vote is Oct. 21.

“Registering to vote or verifying that your voter registration is accurate is important,” said Santa Barbara County Registrar of Voters Joe Holland

To be eligible to vote, an individual must be a citizen of the United States and be at least 18 years of age on Election Day.

Voters can verify the accuracy of their voter registration, including residential and mailing addresses, at the California Secretary of State’s website, or Santa Barbara County Elections Office website.

To make address and other updates to voter registration, or for eligible citizens to register to vote, visit registertovote.ca.gov.

Those who prefer to register using a paper form, voter registration cards can be found in several locations including at elections offices, most post offices and public libraries. The cards can be returned, postage free, to the Santa Barbara County Elections Office.

Santa Barbara County Elections Office has three locations to serve voters:

  • Santa Barbara Elections Main Office, 4440-A Calle Real — 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday, and on Saturday, Nov. 2, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
  • Santa Maria Elections Branch Office, 511 Lakeside Pkwy., Ste. 134 — opening Oct. 7, 8 a.m.-noon Monday-Friday, and 1-5 p.m.; and on Saturday, Nov. 2, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
  • Prior to Oct. 7, voter registration cards may be picked up at the County’s Clerk-Recorder’s office in Santa Maria, located right past security at 511 Lakeside Pkwy.
  • Lompoc Elections Branch Office, 401 E. Cypress, Ste. 102 — opening Oct. 29, 8 a.m.-noon and 1-5 p.m., and on Saturday, Nov. 2, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
