For the first time since 2016, Rick Estrin & The Nightcats is returning to Santa Barbara, Nov. 18 at Carrillo Recreation Center,100 E. Carrillo St. Doors open at 7 p.m., music begins at 7:15 p.m.

Rick Estrin & The Nightcats has won the Blues Foundation’s Blues Music Award as Band of the Year three times in the last five years. Rick Estrin has been nominated a number of times and won twice as Harmonica Player of the Year.

Comprised of Estrin on harmonica and vocals, Kid Andersen on guitar, Lorenzo Farrell on keyboards, and D’Mar on drums, the ensemble tours internationally. The group is noted for its musical virtuosity, as well as its danceability and wry humor.

For its first show for the Santa Barbara Blues Society (SBBS) in almost seven years, the band is sure to play “Dump That Chump” and “My Next Ex-Wife” among other favorites.

General admission tickets are $35; VIP tickets, in front of the stage, are $45. Tickets are $10 for students who show student ID.

Santa Barbara Blues Society members and one companion get a $5 discount each. SBBS memberships are available on the Santa Barbara Blues Society’s website and at the show.

There will be beverages for purchase, free snacks (while they last), an outdoor patio, and a large, spring-loaded dance floor.
