Adam Maness placed 1st individual and Raegan Morawski placed 4th individual in the Nursery/Landscape Contest. The team also included Derek Pinon and Aaron Davila.

The competition featured four different Career Development Events including Nursery/Landscape Judging, Vegetable Crop Judging, Vet Science Judging, and Best Informed Greenhand.

About 200 attendees from more than 20 schools competed. The contest included identification of 100 nursery plants/tools/materials, as well as placing classes of nursery trees, shrubs, and bedding plant flats, according to Warrior FFA Teacher and Advisor Michael Guerra.

“The contest was well organized, and I had a great day,” said Maness. “I am really proud of my teammates for our accomplishments.

“I was nervous at the start, but it went away once I got focused, and it was a fun day competing,” said Davila.

“Thank you to Allan Hancock College, and to the volunteers for the time and effort made to host this important event for our FFA students,” Guerra said.
