Robert 'Bob' Foster
Robert ‘Bob’ Foster

Robert “Bob” Foster, 74, passed away on March 27, 2026, in Santa Barbara. He was born on June 20, 1951 in Atlanta, Georgia.

Bob was a hardworking and multi-talented man who spent his career serving others, first as a grocer in Solvang, and later as a juvenile probation officer for Santa Barbara County until his retirement.

Beyond his professional life, he was known among his loved ones as a master of all trades. Whether acting as a mechanic, an electrician or a plumber, Bob was always willing to step in and help family and friends with whatever they needed.

He had a deep appreciation for the world around him. Bob loved being active and outdoors; he was an avid hiker who deeply cherished his CADA Summit for Danny hikes, a scuba diver, and a surfer in his younger days.

Yet, he was just as content to spend a peaceful afternoon sitting by the pool, lost in the pages of a good book.

Family was the center of Bob’s world. He is survived by his beloved sister Sally; three children Laurel, Lee and Nick; four granddaughters Brianna, Lacie, Kinley and Kendall. He was preceded in death by his brother William.

Bob will be remembered for his selfless nature, his adventurous spirit, and the deep love he had for his family.

A celebration of life will be held on July 25 at a location to be determined. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that anyone so inclined make a donation in Bob’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Summit for Danny a benefit for CADA.
