A rollover crash on Highway 166 east of Santa Maria sent one man to the hospital with critical injuries late Sunday afternoon.
Just before 4 p.m., Santa Barbara County firefighters and California Highway Patrol officers responded to the wreck on the highway east of Highway 101, according to fire Capt. Scott Safechuck.
A silver sedan with a male driver rolled over, landing on its roof west of Rock Front Ranch.
The vehicle reportedly ended up on the right shoulder of the two-lane highway connecting the Central Coast and the southern San Joaquin Valley.
The driver, whose identity was not disclosed, suffered major injuries in the crash and was transported by CalStar medical helicopter to Marian Regional Medical Center in Santa Maria.
The CHP was investigating the circumstances of the crash.
Additional information about the crash was not available Sunday night.
