Two people received major injuries in a solo-vehicle rollover crash on Highway 135 south of Orcutt on Sunday afternoon.

At approximately 4:40 p.m., personnel from the Santa Barbara County Fire and Vandenberg Space Force Base Fire departments were dispatched for a single-vehicle crash on northbound Highway 135 just north of the South Y area, Karen Cruz-Orduña, a spokeswoman for the County Fire Department, said.

The solo-vehicle crash reportedly involved a Ford truck that rolled over at least once and ejected both occupants, according to emergency dispatch reports.

A pair of American Medical Response ambulances transported the two patients to Marian Regional Medical Center.

Northbound traffic, on the stretch of road also known as Highway 1, was briefly diverted onto Graciosa Road while emergency crews were at the scene of the crash.

One lane opened about 5:15 p.m., while the second lane reopened shortly after 6 p.m., according to emergency dispatch reports.

California Highway Patrol officers from the Santa Maria area were investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
