In partnership with the SBCC Foundation, the Rotary Club of Montecito and its supporting foundation awarded 12 scholarships of $1,250 each to standout City College students pursuing study in a career technical education program.

“The Rotary Club of Montecito was proud to present 12 career technical scholarships to very deserving SBCC students on April 19 during a fabulous lunch served by the Culinary Arts students at the college,” said Tom Fisher, Rotary Club president. “The stories from the students and their professors who nominated them were truly inspiring.

“The Rotary Club is proud of our support for the students of SBCC, and we look forward to the next 25 years of supporting the students and watching them grow and flourish in their careers.”

“We are eternally grateful to the Rotary Club of Montecito for their long-standing commitment to SBCC students,” said Geoff Green, SBCC Foundation CEO. “For 25 years the club has offered generous scholarships to SBCC’s Career Technical Education students. CTE programs are one of the great strengths of our community’s college.

“The talented students who pursue these specialized skills are the future of our community.”

Students were selected from among SBCC’s more than 60 Career Technical Education programs. Faculty nominated students who demonstrate leadership, academic excellence, and service to their classroom, campus, or community.
