Ryann Neushul scored a goal for the USA Water Polo Women’s National Team in a 10-8 victory over the Netherlands in an opening game at the World Aquatics World Championships in Doha, Qatar on Sunday.

Neushul, a Dos Pueblos alum, tallied Team USA’s first goal in the Group A match.

It was a back-and-forth battle until the Americans outscored the Netherlands 3-1 in the third period to take an 8-5 advantage.

Rachel Fattal scored two goals and was named the player of the match. Tara Prentice and Jordan Raney also scored a pair of goals.

Team USA’s next group game is against Brazil on Tuesday. The game can be viewed on Peacock at 9:30 a.m.

Neushul was in the starting lineup for Team USA. She is vying to become the third member of her family to play in the Olympic Games. Sisters Kiley and Jamie won gold medals at the 2016 and 2020 Games.
