Overview:
House of Hustle offered $30,000 in scholarships during its first season last year
The newly renamed Santa Barbara House of Hustle will be looking to increase local youth sports participation when it holds its club basketball tryouts later this week for all current and new players.
The club, which took over the Page Center’s Santa Barbara Magic Basketball program last year, was founded by Tyler and Tori Shyrock, and Greg Zuffelato.
“Our overall goal is to make club sports more accessible to all income levels,” Tori Shyrock said. “We currently offer scholarships to many players in our club basketball program.”
She said the club served more than 300 players last year while offering about $30,000 worth of scholarship assistance.
“We want as many kids as possible to benefit from what we have to offer,” Shyrock said. “We will have tournament teams again as well as developmental programs for kids that are not quite ready for the full travel club experience.
“We want to reach out to more families throughout Santa Barbara and Goleta. It’s important for them to know that club basketball is not out of their reach due to financial difficulty as we offer many monthly scholarships.”
Tryouts will be held at the Page Center at the following dates and times:

Sunday, Feb. 26 — Boys 3rd grade from 12:15-1:45 p.m.; girls 4th-6th grades 12:15-1:45 p.m., boys and girls 7th-8th grades 1:45-3:15 p.m.; all high school grades 3:15-4:15 p.m.
Monday, Feb. 27 — Boys 4th grade 3:30-5 p.m.; boys 6th grade 5-6:30 p.m.; boys 5th grade 6:30-8 p.m.
