Aaron Solis, Athletic Director at San Marcos High School, received the Norm Mackenzie Award for the Northern Area of the Southern Section of CIF by the California State Athletic Director’s Association (CSADA) at their annual conference on April 11th in Reno.

According to CSADA, the award is presented to an outstanding athletic director who has been in the role for one to four years, who has displayed organizational leadership skills to promote athletics as an integral part of the educational program within their school and
community.

Awardees are nominated and chosen by fellow Athletic Directors. Coach Solis is in his 2nd full year as the Athletic Director at San Marcos and has been involved in athletics and student activities at San Marcos since 1991, leading his teams to multiple Channel League and CIF championships.

In his current role, Coach Solis has led the athletics department to continued success, as San Marcos marches towards a 10th consecutive year with the most Channel League championships of any school.

“Our school and community congratulate Coach Solis on this well-deserved recognition. Coach Solis is consistently focused on providing our student-athletes with a great experience, which contributes greatly to the culture of our school and athletic programs,” said San Marcos principal Dare Holdren.
