San Marcos stayed in first place in the Channel League with a 7-2 baseball win at Oxnard on Monday.

The Royals are 7-1 in league play, one game ahead of Buena and Santa Barbara.

Cole Schoenwetter and Caden Hodina paced the San Marcos offense. Each went 2 for 3 with a double and a walk. Schoenwetter drove in a run and Hodina scored three times.

Brad Cekada singled and had two RBIs, Brendon Cekada doubled in a run and Patrick had a run-scoring single.

The Royals also were aggressive on the basepaths, stealing four bases. Kelly had two steals.

On the mound, Hodina and Landon Johnson each pitched three innings and Logan Stevenson closed the game with two strikeouts.

The Royals are back in action Tuesday at home against Pacifica.
