Shams Jahangir-Arshad shot a 1-under 69 at the Santa Barbara Golf Club to lead San Marcos to a 382-502 Channel League win over Ventura Thursday.
Meanwhile, another Royals group traveled to River Ridge to beat Pacifica in a nine-hole match.
“Today we split our squad and played two separate matches to make up for some of the rainouts that we’ve had,” San Marcos coach Jeff Ashton said.
The Royals overcame cold and windy conditions to prevail at both locations. Brody Ricci medalled for San Marcos against Pacifica with a 6-over 41.
“Shams put together a solid 1-under par round, and Aaron White had his best round of his high school career with a 77,” Ashton said of the home win over Ventura.
And at River Ridge, “All the guys played pretty well considering the conditions. “Brody earned medalist honors for his first time with a 41.”
