San Marcos boys lacrosse dropped a road matchup with Oak Park by a score of 16-5 in non-league action on Monday.

After Oak Park opened the scoring, the Royals quickly responded to even the score on a goal by Finn Marlow.

San Marcos kept it competitive in the opening stages, with Julian Weinstein scoring two early goals to keep the deficit at one goal.

However, Oak Park continued to pull away in the second half en route to the eventual lopsided win.

Noah Thompson and Dashel Diraison each added goals for San Marcos, while goalie Gianni Coronel and defenseman Riley Moore led the Royals’ defensive effort.

San Marcos will open league play next Tuesday against Thacher.
