San Marcos senior Cole Schoenwetter pitched 6-1/3 innings of no-hit ball with 14 strikeouts to lead the Royals to a 5-1 non-league win over Valencia at home Tuesday.
Caden Hodina came in and completed the no-hitter by getting the final two outs. Valencia’s sole run, in the seventh, was unearned.
Schoenwetter threw 86 pitches and gave up two walks.
Owen Estabrook lead the Royals’ offense with two hits and two RBI. Darren Orlando and Brad Cekada had one hit and one RBI each.
Hodina, Shoenwetter and Brendon Cekada also had hits.
The Royals, now 11-5 overall, go on the road Thursday for another game with Valencia. They remain 6-1 in Channel League play.
