San Marcos and Dos Pueblos boys golf competed in the 20-team Coyote Invitational at Calabasas Country Club on Monday.

On the par 72 course, the Royals placed second with a team score of 299 while the Chargers finished fourth place after totaling 311.

San Marcos

Shams Jahangir-Arshad and Jeffrey Forster led the way for the Royals, each shooting a 74 to end the tournament tied for sixth place out of 100 total golfers.

Meanwhile, Austin Downing and Holdt Gore were just behind them with scores of 75 (11th place) and 76 (16th place), respectively.

Dos Pueblos

Teddy Vigna had a great day on the course for the Chargers, finishing tied for second place after shooting one-under-par at 71.

“[Vigna] was in a tight race with a few other players and came down to the last few holes,” Dos Pueblos coach Kevin Ahlers said. “This is Teddy’s fourth consecutive round under par in as many matches.”

Following up Vigna were Colt Roberts (78), Laith Reynolds (79), Wyatt Gardiner (83) and Scott Nightingale (83).
