San Marcos girls flag football was handed its first loss of the season by Agoura High, 24-6, on Tuesday in Agoura Hills.
“Hats off to Agoura as they did a good job getting the ball to their athletes who made some really nice plays in the passing game,” San Marcos head coach Jason Fowle said.
The lone touchdown for the Royals came on a 15-yard pass from sophomore quarterback Mia Sturm to sophomore wide receiver Rio Chesluk.
Sturm was playing quarterback as a result of sophomore Jazmyn Amezcua injuring her throwing hand.
“We didn’t execute well today as a team,” Fowle said. “This is an opportunity for us to display some resilience, to get back to work and continue to improve.”
San Marcos (2-1) will host Santa Barbara High on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. for the first-ever Big Game for girls flag football.
