San Marcos girls golf placed eighth at the CIF-SS Div. 4 team championships on Tuesday at El Prado Golf Course in Chino Hills.
The Royals combined for a team score of 471 while the first-place finisher Corona Del Mar totaled 441.
“I’m proud of these girls and their commitment to each other and continuing to improve throughout the whole season,” San Marcos coach Sarah Ashton said. “It’s a fun group to work with and they bring out the best in each other.”
All five Royals finished the day in the 90s while senior Talia Cummings led the way with her score of 91.
Cummings was followed by Sadi Adams (92), Chloe Bellamy (94), Campbell Thayer (96) and Mia Rocha (98).
“Talia played solid bogey golf today and held her focus well throughout the long round,” Ashton said. “Chloe Bellamy continues to improve throughout the season, finishing on another personal best of 94.”
